Yes children will need to have a VIP ticket to gain access to the grandstand unless under the age of 4 where they can sit on a parents lap.
NO Parking at the Official Birr Air Display on site car park is FREE while there is ample parking available it is on a first come first served basis .

There are a number of reasons an aircraft may have to cancel its appearance at the Birr Air Display which is outside the control of the Event Organiser.

Aircraft line-up, all ground events and activities are subject to change without notice and may be dependent on weather.

Birr airfield is located 1 mile south of Birr Town on the Roscrea Rd. R42V380
Plan your journey on www.transportforireland.ie.
We expect their will be delays at peak times in both Birr and Roscrea directions. Gardai will be on hand to move traffic as quickly as possible. Please leave ample time for your Journey to Birr.
PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PARK ILLEGALLY – IN LOCAL ESTATES OR OUTSIDE LOCAL RESIDENCES.
YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO LEAVE YOUR CAR PARKED OVERNIGHT.
Yes, there is parking available at designated car parks.
If you’re travelling to the Birr Air Display by CAR please plan your journey in advance, give yourself plenty of time to get to and from Birr.
Yes, we have a wide range of variety within our Food Village, or you can treat yourself and the family to a meal at famous The Thatch bar and Restaurant located in Crinkill Village half a mile from the airfield or one of the many restaurants throughout the town or simply bring your own picnic. There are two Hotels located in Birr if you wish to stay Doolys Hotel and the County Arms Hotel. There are many fine B&B’s located close to the event.
Unfortunately, BBQ’s are strictly prohibited and can not be used at the Birr Air Display. If you breach this rule you may be asked to leave the event.
Due to safety concerns for all spectators, personal tents or awnings are not allowed throughout the event site. Personal hand-held or beach umbrellas are allowed.
Spectators can bring their own seating, blanket or cushion.
There are also lots of fabulous places to stay, eat, drink, relax and shop in Birr. You can treat yourself and the family to a meal at famous The Thatch bar and Restaurant located in Crinkill Village half a mile from the airfield or one of the many restaurants throughout the town or simply bring your own picnic. Unfortunately, there are no campsites in Birr. Please note: Sleeping is not permitted in any vehicles in the car parks. We do not permit camping, camper vans or caravans on site.

Yes there are First aid facilities at the Birr Air Display and are manned by trained Red Cross personnel.
There are a number of portaloo on site including disabled portaloo facilities.
There are no ATM’s on site there are a number of ATM’s close by

- Applegreen service station railway road Birr
The use of remote control devices and unmanned aircraft systems (which includes drones) are not permitted at the Birr Air Display.
There is a Temporary Restricted Airspace notice in place to protect Birr Air Display participants and spectators, for the duration of the event August 5th Only approved aircraft will be permitted to operate within the TRA for the duration of the event.
Some of the vintage aircraft taking part are less noisy than the high speed jets. Our advice is to come prepared as unfortunately, the roar of the jets is unavoidable, it is part and parcel of the Birr Air Display.
Some children wear ear protection, some do not. It is completely up to you.
If you have any pets sensitive to loud noise then please think twice before bringing them to the event.
Some of the vintage aircraft taking part are less noisy than the high speed aircraft but the roar of the jets is unavoidable, it is part and parcel of the Birr Air Display. This may make your pet distressed and perhaps increase their fears so it maybe best to leave them at home. All dogs must be on leads.
Guide dogs are very welcome at #BirrAirDisplay but please take note of the above.

Accessibility at the #BirrAirDisplay
Yes, there is free parking for disabled persons at all #BirrAirDisplay car parks.
But unfortunately viewing will restricted for your parking spot.
The spaces are limited and cannot be reserved.
On entry to the site You must have a valid European Parking Card prominently displayed in a visible position to avail of the FREE disabled parking.
We would also advise people travelling by car to arrive early and expect delays before and after the event.

Unfortunately some of your view may be impeded of the display from our Disabled parking area.
Yes, for the most part we have flat level ground. Please bear in mind that Birr Airfield is a grass filed site with some hardcore areas and you may need assistance to get through some areas of the site. Disability access toilets are on site.
Please note: There are some areas on the site that are not wheelchair accessible.
Yes, specific unisex wheelchair accessible toilets will be available.
Yes, guide dogs are very welcome at #BirrAirDisplay.
As you are aware pets are sensitive to loud noise. Please note: the high speed jets performing at the Birr Air Display make a considerable amount of noise.
